  • Artist Statement

I believe leaving four walls is all you need to do to experience art.

Since its conception art is what humankind makes from the natural, the universe the original and continually shifting canvas of the Big Bang.

Our experience in the world is arbitrated and sculpted by our senses, without them Art would be earth’s stillborn child.

My muse is the mossy stump of the glen, briny froth and crash of sea waves, cloud-capped craggy peaks, emerald forests, frog-song, the first honeysuckle of Sister Spring.

My art lives where the internal meets the external.

In this entrenched society that stripped the senses of their relevance and replaced it shame, we’ve been far too stingy with them.

So gather the quivers that never got to fly and:

    UNVEIL YOUR EYES,

    SLUICE YOUR EARS,

    FORSAKE YOUR GLOVES,

    BOLDEN YOUR TONGUE,

    AND

    UNLEASH YOUR NOSE.
